It is also called longitudinal cutting machine or slitting machine. The machine is used for cutting the coil material to the desired width(s) in its running direction. The belt coil can be cut by either single blade mode (1 width --> 2 smaller widths) or multiple blade mode (1 width --> ≧3 smaller widths at the same time).

 

The basic principle is to pull the belt through the machine by a pair of motorized horizontal clamping rollers, whilst slitting it by a fixed steel cutting blade down on the belt at fixed width position. To cut hard or polyamide transmission belts, circular cutting blade is required.
